Ikebukuro. A city plagued by gangs, violence, and flying vending machines. Here, almost anything was possible. You learned that the hard way when you first moved to this city.
You were young when your parents divorced. Because of conflicting job offers and custody issues, your father and older brother moved to Japan while you stayed in America with your mother. When you got older, your brother suggested that you move to Japan and into his new apartment with him.
It didn't take much to convince you before you were off to the city of Ikebukuro.
Of course, you weren't expecting your new arrival to be welcomed by a nearly fatal encounter with an uprooted stop sign flying through the air in your direction. To make matters worse, a young man with black hair tried using you as a human shield while a blonde haired man wearing a bartender outfit charged after him while yelling, "IZAYAAAA!!"
After that little fiasco, your brother properly introduced you to the two men. Shizuo Heiwajima and Izaya Orihara.
Shizuo was a very attractive, very strong man. Izaya was also attractive, but had a sly, sneaky allure to him. Despite being warned by everyone, specifically Shizuo, to stay away from Izaya, you were always nice to him. You never put too much trust into him, though.
You knew better.
As time went on, your friendship with Shizuo grew into something more. It wasn't long after you began dating that Shizuo asked you to move in with him. You happily accepted his offer.
Shizuo was a wonderful boyfriend. He never liked showing affection out in public, but that didn't bother you at all. What mattered was how he was when you two were alone. For being labeled as The Strongest Man In Ikebukuro, he was always careful not to hurt you. If anything, Shizuo was very loving and gentle when you were alone with him.
Sure, his anger did surface a few times, but it wasn't anything you couldn't handle. TV remotes and doors were easy to replace.
One thing that did get under Shizuo's skin was something you were unaware of. Something that you happened to love. Manga.
Normally, this wouldn't phase Shizuo. But recently, his apartment was looking more and more like an otaku shop rather than a residence.
You blamed Erika and Walker for your addiction. They were corrupting you by introducing you to new manga at least twice a week. Manga that you simply couldn't ignore.
Although that was your excuse, Shizuo didn't seem to buy it.
"I'm home." The ex-bartender called as he came home from another day of working with Tom. When he didn't receive an answer, Shizuo made his way towards the living room.
"[Name], are you-" He stopped mid-sentence at the sight before him. There you were sitting on the living room floor, surrounded by piles of manga.
"Oh, hi Shizuo. How was your day?" You asked, looking up from the volume you were currently reading.
"What the Hell is this?" He asked, gesturing towards the manga. He was doing everything possible to keep his temper under control.
"Erika let me borrow a few manga." You replied before returning to the page you left off on.
"A few? You gotta be kidding." He stated before lighting up a cigarette and taking a long drag. When you didn't respond, Shizuo huffed and sat down to watch TV.
Every second that went by only made Shizuo more and more irritated.
"Yes?" You asked, your eyes never leaving the page.
"Stop reading that shit and watch TV with me." Shizuo said, taking another drag from his cigarette in a futile attempt to remain calm.
"Hold on, I'm almost finished with this volume. By the way, I picked up a new anime series for us to watch later!" You declared happily, oblivious to the involuntary twitching of a certain ex-bartender's eyebrow.
"It's called Kamisama Kiss. According to Erika, it's really good." As you continued, Shizuo stood up.
Snapping his cigarette in half with his thumb and index finger and stomping it out, Shizuo did what any rational boyfriend would do... He picked up the manga laying on the floor and threw them out the window.
Completely shocked by his actions, you couldn't do anything except sit there staring at him with your jaw practically on the floor.
Until Shizuo went into the bedroom you two shared and began tossing your anime out the window, that is.
"S-Shizuo!" You yelled, running into the bedroom. "Shizuo, what are you doing?!"
"Getting rid of this shit!" He answered as he tossed a handful of anime figures out the window.
"Please stop, Shizuo! I paid a lot of money for those!" You pleaded, only to be ignored as Shizuo continued his rampage. "The manga in the living room weren't even mine, you idiot!"
Calling Shizuo an idiot wasn't exactly a wise move, especially when he was pissed off. But because you didn't think before speaking, your favorite anime wall scroll suffered the consequence... and was tossed out the window as well.
"H-How could you?! You... you just killed me... you know that, right? You destroyed my babies..." You cried, laying dramatically on the floor.
Shizuo lit up another cigarette and looked down at you. "You're better off without all that crap."
"No I'm not! I can't believe you'd do this to me, Shizuo!" You whined.
"I did you a favor." He retorted, surprisingly unfazed by your tantrum.
"Bullshit! How would you feel if I took your precious cancer sticks and threw them away?!"
"Thanks for reminding me. This is my last cigarette." Shizuo replied before walking towards the front door.
"I'll get you for this, Shizuo Heiwajima! I promise you that much!" You declared as he walked out the door, leaving you to devise a genius plan in a short amount of time.
After picking up a pack of cigarettes, Shizuo began walking back to the apartment. The more he thought about his earlier outburst, the more he regretted his actions. He didn't want to upset you, but he felt like he would throw up if he had to look at one more manga. His thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a familiar voice calling out to him.
Turning around, Shizuo was going to rip into Izaya... until he saw who was with him.
"[Name]-chan and me are spending the night together. It's a shame you can't control that temper of yours, Shizu-chan. Oh well. At least I benefit from your lack of self control~" Izaya taunted, flashing Shizuo a sly grin.
"Izaya!! I'm going to kill you, you damn flea!" Shizuo yelled angrily before chasing after him. "Get back here, you bastard!"
You smiled. "Stage one: Complete."
Shizuo let out an exasperated sigh as he entered his apartment. He ended up losing sight of Izaya after a good hour of chasing him around Ikebukuro. What bothered Shizuo the most was the fact that you were with Izaya. Shizuo knew you weren't happy with him, but to go off with that damned flea? He didn't understand it.
Once again, his thoughts were interrupted by an odd noise. Was... was that... moaning?
Walking over to his bedroom door, Shizuo listened in closely.
"Ah! Ah! Oh, Izaya! Faster!~"
Before you knew it, the bedroom door was ripped off it's hinges by an extremely pissed off Shizuo. Seeing only you in the room and fully clothed caused Shizuo to pause. You looked at each other for a few moments before you started laughing.
"Hahaha! Look at your face!! Hahaha! Oh my God! I can't believe you fell for that!!" You laughed uncontrollably, wiping a few tears away.
Shizuo understood now. This was what you meant when you said you'd get back at him. Growling slightly, he grabbed you and threw you on the bed before climbing on top of you.
"W-What are you doing, Shizuo?" You asked, a light blush rising to your face.
"Giving you a reason to moan." Shizuo answered in a low, seductive voice.
Rough and forceful enough to hurt a little, but not enough to cause any sort of injury. His every touch sent a spark throughout your entire body. He knew exactly how to tease you. How to make you beg him for more. You were like a puppet on a string. Shizuo had total control over you, and you were happy to just be along for the ride.
You laid close to Shizuo, his arms around you as you both tried to catch your breaths.
"I'm sorry... for before." Shizuo said, looking away slightly.
"It's okay. I did get a little too carried away, didn't I?"
"That's an understatement."
You looked at him unamused for a moment before smiling.
"I think we can come to a compromise." You began. Shizuo looked at you, waiting for you to continue. "Let's do... what we just did more often. And in exchange, I'll stop collecting manga." You said.
"And anime." Shizuo added.
"Fine. And anime. Unless it's a really good anime series." You replied.
Shizuo chuckled slightly. "Deal."
You smiled and kissed him. "I love you, Shizuo."
"I love you too.. idiot."
